Research Interests: His current scholarly interests include the application of freehand drawing techniques to the design process with an emphasis on digital colorization.
Duane Mezga has a BS in Biology and Botany from Kent State University (1967), a Master of Science in Plant Ecology from the University of Illinois (1969), a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois (1973) and is a registered landscape architect. Professor Mezga teaches classes in Site Design, Urban Design, Freehand Drawing and Graphic Communication. He has traveled widely throughout Europe, leading numerous Study Abroad programs to the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany and Poland. He has published in national and international journals in the areas of Holocaust memorialization and post-World War II Polish city planning.
