Upper Division Review Requirements
To be reviewed for admission to the Interior Design Upper Division (professional level interior design courses) students must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Completion of 56 credits
- Overall University GPA of 2.5 or greater
- An artistic/portfolio component
- Interior Design GPA of 3.0 or greater, in the following courses: IDES140, IDES142, IDES150, IDES152, ATD231, IDES240, IDES250, IDES252
During the Spring term of IDES252, students will be able to fill out an application to the Upper Division Program. At the end of the Spring term, students will submit portfolio elements, and will be reviewed at that time. Of those who meet the above requirements, only 40 will be admitted to the junior class. The above list of Interior Design courses required for the Upper Division Review is in effect fostudents applying for admission during Spring Semester for the junior class of the following Fall semester. This list is subject to change in subsequent years due to program curriculum changes and/or changes in requirements by the accrediting agency (CIDA).
Accreditation
The Interior Design curriculum has been continually accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) since 1976. CIDA has a website at http://www.accredit-id.org/.
