Agriculture Hall: 100 Year Anniversary
“The Agriculture Hall at Michigan State University is one of the oldest buildings on campus. It was built in 1909 and is home to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources was the first college of the first land grant institution in America and has been the focus of Michigan State University for many years. This college has pioneered many advances in agriculture and natural resources, including the horticultural work of Liberty Hyde Bailey, a prestigious scholar and professor at Michigan State University.
The year 2009 marks the one hundred year anniversary of agriculture hall. In order to celebrate the rich history of the building and of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources a new landscape has been proposed. The entire area surrounding Agriculture Hall was considered for redesign. With a wide arrange of ideas we have produced a design that will give Agriculture hall the respect and attention it deserves.” [Derrik Misiul & Jake Steward, 4th year Landscape Architecture students].
