Mrozowski named distinguished faculty member by CANR

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) at Michigan State University (MSU) will honor 12 leaders in agriculture and natural resources for leadership at the community, state and/or national levels during the annual Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Week luncheon at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center March 7.
Tim Mrozowski will receive a Distinguished Faculty Award.
Professor Mrozowski has served for over 35 years at MSU as a professor and recently as Program Leader of the Construction Management Program, in the School of Planning, Design and Construction. His devotion to education and the continued success of his students is reflected in their favorable comments and top ratings.
Mrozowski conducts research and outreach on sustainability, energy, steel and project management. He has provided project services for domestic and international projects, including work with students from the School of Planning, Design and Construction from 2007-2012 to provide LEED AP services for the LEED Platinum Plesso Scolastico Scuola Romarzollo in Arco, Italy. LEED platinum is the highest level of achievement in the LEED rating system, and the Arco School was the first school project to achieve this rating outside of the United States. During this period he also worked on the formation of the Italian Green Building Council.
For a number of years, he co-directed the MSU Construction Industry Research and Education Center which is organized to help improve project delivery of construction projects on campus. Through this work he presented numerous seminars and lectures to professional groups on various aspects of architecture and construction management.
Mrozowski has worked to improve energy efficiency in Michigan’s homes and businesses through a number of research and outreach grants. He directs the Michigan Energy Code Training and Implementation Project and has trained over 6,000 industry participants. He served on the Michigan Energy Code Revision committee and worked to help adopt advanced efficiency standards for Michigan. His students have conducted energy audits on residence halls, classroom buildings and laboratory buildings. Currently they are conducting energy assessments of Belle Isle Facilities in Detroit.
