Urban & Regional Planning Student Association (URPSA)
The Urban and Regional Planning Student Association (URPSA) is an MSU organization composed of undergraduate and graduate students who are students of the SPDC Urban & Regional Planning Program or share an interest in the field. The group strives to partake in a variety of educational, social, professional development and community service activities, most of which center around city planning and community development. The success of the organization will increase the social capital of the program, creating relationships among students and enhancing the knowledge that students have of planning issues and opportunities available. The URPSA‘s activities include bi-weekly meetings and monthly social activities. The organization supports professional development of students through job shadowing, speaker series and networking; participates in community service; and is active in student-, state-, and national-level conferences. The URP Program faculty assign an advisor to URPSA and all faculty rotates meeting attendance to present on recent research. The URPSA utilizes a Facebook group to communicate to members and interested parties.
