Incoming graduate MURP students should meet with the Graduate Program
Coordinator upon arrival to campus. First year graduate students
will be advised by the Graduate Program Coordinator to discuss such
issues as course requirements, concentration area electives, etc.
The Gradate Program Coordinator will assist graduate student to
find an appropriate faculty advisor as soon as feasible during the
first year, normally after the "concentration area" is chosen by
the graduate student. At that point, the chosen faculty will become
the graduate student's faculty advisor. The student should then
schedule an appointment with the new faculty advisor to develop
a "Plan of Study" that specifies which concentration are courses
are to be taken and the Plan B or Thesis topic. The completed "Plan
of Study" form is to be submitted to the Graduate Program Coordinator.
Subsequent changes to the Plan of Study must follow the same administrative
procedure.
Graduate Teaching Assistants must meet with Dr. Norman regarding the agreement between MSU and the Graduate Employees Union (GEU).
Incoming Master of International Planning Studies (MIPS) students must meet with the Graduate Program Coordinator upon arrival to campus to discuss and choose courses for your 12 month plan of study.
